Nobody’s Home (November 23 - May 24)
Client: Personal Project
Project Description: Me and my peers from the major decided to make a game which we can be proud of and put into our portfolios. We decided to make the prototype of our hardcore turn-based RPG game with elements of crafting, building and surviving for the Game Studios class and continue to develop this project afterwards. I took a lead designer role on me.
Skills Used: Project documentation, GDD Writing, Game Design skills, Presentation skills, Communication skills, Narrative design
Issues Faced: Since it was a team project we had problems in the early stages of the prototype development, since we had to scope the field of work, workflow processes and agree on a basic game setting and story plot. Which is always difficult when you have a set of strong individuals working together, as well as it was my first experience as a lead designer. These issues were solved with management and communication skills, as well as I asked professors and senior peers for advice about documentation and design roles.
Project Result: We successfully made a game prototype in 3 months.
